Insomniac Pledges $50,000 To Abortion Rights Group, Sony To Match Contribution – Report

Following widespread criticism of PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan’s email last week urging employees to “respect differences of opinion” around abortion rights before writing at length about his cat’s birthdays, Insomniac Games has reportedly decided to donate $50,000 to the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project, a pro-choice organization.

According to The Washington Post, Insomniac shared the news in an internal email sent May 13. In it, Insomniac CEO Ted Price also confirmed that parent company Sony has agreed to match the studio’s donation, a marked departure from Ryan’s “middle-of-the-road” stance last week. Furthermore, Sony has also pledged to match all donations made from individual Insomniac employees as long as they make them via the company’s PlayStation Cares program.

The Ratchet and Clank and Marvel’s Spider-Man developer then revealed it is currently working with Sony to “formulate an initiative to provide financial assistance to employees who might ha…

Jurassic World Evolution 2 Announced, Launching in 2021

Jurassic World Evolution 2, a sequel to the park management title, has been revealed at the Summer Games Fest Kickoff Show, by actor (and Jurassic Park alumni no less) Jeff Goldblum. The teaser trailer showed off a new stunning park filled with all sorts of familiar prehistoric life, with a 2021 launch window confirmed at the end.

The pre-rendered trailer doesn’t present much in the way of details regarding how this sequel will build upon the foundations of the first game, but you can probably count on having a whole new set of challenges to tackle as you navigate building and running a dinosaur-filled park of your own. This time around the game is coming to a host of platforms from the get go, with Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC all listed at the end.

Jodie Foster To Star In True Detective Season 4 – Report

Actor Jodie Foster (The Silence of the Lambs) has reportedly been cast to lead Season 4 of True Detective, a batch of episodes subtitled True Detective: Night Country. Deadline was first to report.

Foster, who is also executive producing the series, will reportedly play Detective Liz Danvers. Season 4 of the anthology show will come from writer and director Issa López (Tigers Are Not Afraid) and co-executive producer Barry Jenkins (Moonlight).

Back in 2019, series creator Nic Pizzolatto was developing a storyline for a potential Season 4–though months after the Season 3 finale instead decided to use what he had come up with for another series or film. He then began work on another storyline for True Detective he had discussed with an undisclosed actor. And after that, for a while, True Detective’s future seemed uncertain as years passed with no new updates.

In February 2021, HBO chief content officer Casey Bloys revealed that work ha…

John DiMaggio Returns After All For Hulu's Futurama Revival

Futurama will be returning with its original cast intact, after all. According to Deadline, John DiMaggio–the sole holdout in the recent announcement of the revival–has “closed a deal to reprise his signature voice role.”

“I’m back, baby! So damn grateful for the love and support of fans and colleagues alike during this whole time (especially my wife, Kate), and I cannot wait to get back to work with my Futurama family,” DiMaggio said in a statement obtained by the publication. “#Bendergate is officially over, so put it on the back of a shelf behind Xmas decorations, or maybe in that kitchen drawer with all of the other crap you put in there like old unusable crazy glue, or maybe even put it in a jar you save farts in. Whatever floats your boat, I don’t care, you get the picture. I’m back, baby! Bite my shiny metal ass!”

After the revival was announced in February, and that DiMaggio would not be participating, speculation quickly arose that the acto…

Legacy Of Kain Fans Are Convinced The Next Game In The Series Is Being Secretly Tested Soon

Crystal Dynamics is preparing to hold a secret playtest for one of its upcoming projects in May, with some fans speculating that the Tomb Raider developer will invite select players to try out a new Legacy of Kain game. Crystal Dynamics confirmed to PCGamesN that a closed playtest is happening next month, but the studio didn’t mention which game will be tried out on an invite-only basis.

“I can confirm that the invitation is genuine and from us,” a Crystal Dynamics’ representative said to PCGamesN, “but can’t give any information about what they’ll be testing.”

What is known is that players who completed a recent Legacy of Kain survey report have received an email from Crystal Dynamics for the playtests. “Crystal Dynamics will be hosting playtests for a new game from May 3 to May 12,” the invitation reportedly reads. “The playtests will be remote so you can participate from home as long as you have a PC or Mac, web camera, microphone, and the Microsoft Teams app installe…

LittleBigPlanet Servers Offline In Suspected DDoS Attack

LittleBigPlanet servers are offline across a wide variety of LBP games, and it appears that a DDoS attack may be the cause. Sony and support studio XDEV have only confirmed “technical issues,” but the fan community suspects foul play.

Eurogamer reports that fans have expressed concern over community features being targeted by a disgruntled fan, who reportedly is unhappy with how Sony has been treating the franchise. The DDoS attacks have targeted content for various LBP games, though not LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation Vita. Fans also suggest the same attacker could be behind the social media site LBP.me, which has been down for months.

LittleBigPlanet was released by Media Molecule in 2008, with a single-player campaign and a robust set of creation tools. That was followed up by two more sequels and handheld spin-offs, with Sumo Digital taking over in 2014. The most-recent game from Sumo was a departure from the classic LBP franchise, instead putting the mascot characte…

Lord Of The Rings' Dominic Monaghan To Star In New VR Game Launching Next Month

Lord of the Rings and Lost star Dominic Monaghan will star in a new virtual reality game called Dark Threads. According to Deadline, it’s a sci-fi drama that is “fully interactive.”

The game comes from Cream Productions, a Canadian studio that is now venturing into VR after producing The Story of Late Night for CNN. A trailer can be seen here.

Dark Threads invites users to “embark on a fantastical journey of consciousness,” according to Deadline’s description. Monaghan is the player character, an inventor who came up with a plan to save the world, but of course, it doesn’t work out so well.

“Things go wrong when your attempt to upload your consciousness RHEA, a developing AI you’ve created traps half of you inside a CPU,” reads a line from its description. “You can’t trust the authorities. You can’t trust RHEA and you can’’ even trust half of yourself! Everything you think, everything you DO has consequences so, choose wisely.”

Lego Horizon Adventures Review – For Buildin' Jest

After 20 years of tie-in games made mainly in one specific shape, players have been conditioned to know what to expect when they see the word Lego at the front of a game’s title. Lego Horizon Adventures, however, diverges from some of what that naming convention may conjure in one’s mind. It’s not a stark departure from the dozens of games that precede it, but Lego Horizon Adventures alters the formula in a few noticeable ways. In the process, it cleverly reinvents its universe for a new base of players, though it struggles to build on its own revised formula consistently.

Despite using a zoomed-out third-person perspective familiar to Lego game players, Lego Horizon Adventures is a far more cinematic Lego game. This might not come as much of a surprise, however, considering how PlayStation has defined its brand by chasing Hollywood for the past 15 years. Gone are several Lego-game tropes, such as unlocking dozens of characters, or replaying levels with tho…

Hotline Miami 2- Wrong Number Review

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number’s action is so loud and intense that upon hitting the pause button, reality feels like it’s playing at half speed. It’s the type of experience that invites you to sit closer to the screen and crank up the volume higher than usual. One of the lingering memories of the first game was its heart-pounding techno soundtrack, so allow me to get this out of the way: The music in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is absolutely outstanding. But to revel in the game’s slick style too much would be a disservice to its ferociously entertaining and challenging top-down action. This is a confident follow-up which improves upon the original in almost every way. Hotline Miami 2 is more varied, paced better, fairer, and more challenging. This is a tremendously stylish game which entertains throughout, and delights in forcing you out of your comfort zone.

Hotline Miami 2 is a top-down twitch shooter in which you play as one of many available psychopaths who, for an asso…

Lost Ark Endgame Guide- What To Do After Hitting Level 50

Lost Ark is filled to the brim with content while you’re leveling up, including quests and loot, but the real game starts after you hit level 50. In true MMORPG fashion, that’s where a lot of your experience will take place, but it can be difficult to tell what you should be doing without a little guidance.

Thankfully, it’s easier than it might seem at first glance. While there is a dizzying amount of content to get lost in, right off the bat you really only need to focus on a small handful of activities to get the ball rolling on your endgame experience. Here’s what you should prioritize shortly after hitting level 50 in Lost Ark.

Continue The Main Quest

You’ll hit level 50 long before the game’s main story comes to a stop, but that doesn’t mean you should give up on completing the main quest (designated by the blue globe icon). The main point you’ll want to reach is Vern Castle. It’s at this point that, once you’r…
